SB for Not-Really-Break Week

I am in Santa Barbara visiting some friends and getting away from the energy of San Francisco, but here I am sitting in a chair, in my friends apartment, working on Graphic Two and 505, GO ME! It's nice to get away from the city and escape to a space that I'm not too familiar with. A new cafe to sit at and people watch ... I mean work. I started a SmartSheet profile to keep track of my projects ... and now I have anxiety. Yikes.

Note Book Doodle

As learned in Colloquium  some people just think better when they doodle. Hi, my name is Kenta Thomas Naoi, and I am a doodler. I have been doodling a lot in my notebook lately. It helps me think. They don't pertain much to my actual project, but I suppose the act of moving my hands while thinking helps me think more clearly or take in information. It also just makes me happy. I'll post images from my actual journal and my writings pertaining to the research soon!

Where Did My Weekends Go!?

Every weekend in October was spent in the library, sometimes with my housemate. Where did my weekends go? 505 has taken over my life. Note to self, be careful about taking Typography and 505 at the same time. It's all worth it though. I love both classes. I rather be a design major, do what I love to do, and spend my weekends working than doing nothing in a major or raft that I hate. Yay design!

Mental Road Block

Recently I have been hitting a mental road block, not sure of where to start in terms of research, what to observe, so I began by reaching out to the PR/Directors of the two art houses through email. Both individuals emailed me back with great feedback. I will be meeting with them this week and the next to hear more about their visions and their goals, and inquire a little bit about their current strategies to bring more people into the space as audience and participants. I also have started to look at a wide range of previous 505 projects that include logo redesign, or identity/branding based research and development processes. I am particularly looking at the project done in 2010 on the subject of a dance organization called, 'Sambaxe'.
